Elks 6 Earns Almost $5,000 from Car Show

SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - Sacramento Elks Lodge No. 6’s second annual Classic Car Show, held on Saturday, July 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Elks 6 Lodge parking lot, raised nearly $5,000 for the lodge’s veterans activities, services, and events.
After attracting 60 classic cars last year, organizers were delighted to welcome more than 100 entries this year.
Featured categories included Modified, Classics, Lowriders and Classic Trucks. Awards included trophies, dash plaques, and Best of Show honors.
The event was free and open to the public. Visitors enjoyed classic rock music, while participants were treated to coffee and doughnuts.
The Fry Boys Food Truck served gourmet burgers and loaded fries, and a beer garden offered draft and bottled beer (no outside alcohol was permitted).
Profits from the beer garden benefited the Elks 6 Veterans Committee.
Carol Mitchell, Elks 6 president, and Jane Gallagher, chair of the Classic Car Show, both emphasized the Elks’ commitment to veterans, noting that all proceeds from the event support Elks 6 veterans programs.
Revenue came from entry fees, raffle ticket sales and the beer garden.
Sacramento City Councilmember Rick Jennings arrived in his classic 1973 Mercury and was invited to present the awards.
Rory McDonagh and his Chevy Camaro earned fifth place.
Donald Aron’s Porsche 356 Speedster took fourth place.
Tony Anouncci’s bright red 1957 Chevy Bel Air, sporting the personalized license plate “NEAT 57,” placed third.
Kyle Venotia’s Chevy Camaro finished in second place.
Best of Show went to Peter Steinart and his beautifully restored 1956 Nash.
