SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - Elks Lodge No. 6’s brand-new Exalted Ruler, Rob Moore, is introducing an innovative idea. The Easter Bunny will make a special appearance this year, a week before Easter.

Moore announced, “This Sunday, April 13, we will feature a special Elks Lodge No. 6 Easter Breakfast with Easter Bunny photos and an outdoor egg hunt.”

The breakfast will be from 8:30 to 11 a.m. The GreenHaven Pocket Farmers Market will be open for their second Sunday of their fourth season, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The market used to be on Saturdays but switched to Sundays this year to get better fruits and veggies.

According to Vic Cima, GreenHaven Pocket Farmers Market general manager, “Rather than competing for the Easter Bunny’s time, we are supporting Elks Lodge No. 6’s Sunday breakfast to offer a better Easter event for the community.”

The Elks Easter egg hunt will start at 11 a.m. Glen Smith, who oversees the Elks Breakfast, said, “It will be outdoors, weather permitting; otherwise, we'll move indoors.” Smith also said, “The egg hunt is open to the public, and breakfast participation is not necessary.”

The special Elks Lodge No. 6 Easter breakfast will have a ham carving station, cinnamon rolls, and an egg casserole.

Smith said, “We will not have our regular breakfast, and no omelets.”

The price for the breakfast is $20 for adults and children aged 11 and older. Kids ages 5-10 are $10, and kids under age 5 are free.

Smith was excited to emphasize that, “There is also a farmers market that day since it has moved from Saturday to Sunday.”

The GreenHaven Pocket Farmers Market will have all its regular vendors.

Daniel Gomez said, “Sweetbriar’s Bakery will have some special items for Easter.” Gomez had a huge smile when he described his classic “Hot Cross Buns” with a light lemon glaze that turns these buns into not only a delicious breakfast but also a worthy addition to any Easter dessert spread.

Gomez also said, “We have to have a variety of frosted Easter cookies for the kids.”
