Teresa Alvarado, granddaughter of Dennis Paul Holton, drinks a beverage next to the Pocket News article that proclaimed her winning costume entry in the Greenhaven Pocket Farmers Market Halloween Costume Contest.
Dennis Paul “Denny” Holton was a beloved member of Sacramento Elks Lodge No. 6, and as a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam, he was laid to rest in the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California.
He would have been very proud that Teresa Alvarado enjoyed seeing a photo/story in the Pocket News about herself being the overwhelming winner of the Greenhaven Pocket Farmers Market Halloween Costume Contest on Saturday, October 28, at Sacramento Elks Lodge 6. “Denny” passed away about a year before his granddaughter, Teresa, was born.
Teresa’s mother, Nicole, has been a member of the Sacramento Elks Lodge for seven years. Teresa and her mother are frequent visitors to the Greenhaven Pocket Farmers Market. Nicole said, “My father would be very proud of the Greenhaven Pocket Farmers Market’s support of the local veterans.”
